Lydia Schatz, a 7 year old girl adopted from Liberia, was beaten to death by her parents, Kevin and Elizabeth Schatz, in their California home. Her parents were found to have been following the readings of a book called “To Train A Child”, written by fundamentalist Christian couple Michael and Debi Pearl, a book that was found in their house and used as evidence in the case against them.
They are currently serving out prison sentences on charges of torture and murder.
